Richarlison started playing football in his hometown, Nova Venécia-ES. He has also played for the youth team of Real Nordeste. From the Espírito Santo championships, the boy was taken to trial for teams like Avaí and Figueirense, but was not successful.
The story of this Capixaba would start to change when he tried his luck in Minas Gerais. After nailing the trials to join the youth team (U-17) of América-MG, Richarlison rose meteorically. He left the youth team to join the professional one in less than nine months and shook Mogi Mirim's nets on his very first match. From then on, he never left the first team and was able to help is team reach Brazil's top league in 2015.
